#12 Final

I finished the two surveys and I realized that people who are gay tend to be bullied more than any other kind of person. A majority of people said they have witnessed someone being bullied, and a majority did nothing to stop it.

I also realized that girls in my school who took the survey feel uncomfortable against lesbians, but not against guys who are gay. That was my prediction and the survey proved it all right.

Overall, the surveys I sent out all proved hypothesis correct. Kids who are gay do receive more harassment than kids who are not. Plenty of people were not bullied and have witnessed bullying and have done nothing to stop it.

#11 Plan in Action

As I said before my plan is for students, teachers, and strangers to take my online survey on homosexuality. I  decided to do two different surveys. One is just on bullying in general. The next will be on how they feel with someone who is gay and if they think they are bullied more than a general kid.
My first survey is going well and has been reaching my hypothesis. I believed people would chose that the school does not push the zero tolerance policy, if they witnessed someone being bullied BUT did nothing about it (however more said they did do something). Some say they were bullied, and my last question was if they think kids who are bullied tend to become violent.
Now, I'm going to redo that same survey but I will be adding in someone who is gay and how they feel on it.

I posted the first survey in the IHA 2014 page on Facebook but I'll post it on this post also.
I'm going to post the second form on the IHA 2014 page on Facebook and also on here.

# 10 Plan

So, as I said in my last post I will be creating a survey. I will be creating one in Google Docs and post it into the 2014 IHA students Facebook page, and also having the survey on my tablet and have co-workers and customers take it too. I feel like this will go either really well or extremely horrible. I feel like the older the generation, the well accepting they will be. I'm not going to force anyone to take it.

# 9 SURVEY TIME!

So, I'm going to begin to create a survey on this topic and share it among my grade but also later share it among adults.  I will have it all anonymous, but it will be on their personal views on homosexuality and those who are gay. If they are more comfortable around gay men  or gay women or they're comfortable around either or not at all.
I'll keep it all posted!

# 8 Final Post. You will be OK. I promise. Love, Christina

I really enjoyed doing this. I usually keep up with the events that happen over homosexuality. I want to know how it's going to effect me as I get older. If I will ever be able to get married and have that document. Because of this research I know I'm not the only one who gets angry/sad over what's happening. I like that some people who are heterosexual support the LGBT rights. I understand more as to why people bully me over my sexuality. This blog research really opened my eyes.
I know that I am not alone. And the way I want to end this blog is by letting everyone being bullied over their sexuality or for being themselves know it will be OK.

Everything will be alright. It's difficult now but I just want everyone to know it will get better. It's difficult for me in this moment but I try to keep my attitude positive and know that everything will turn out alright. Don't ever be ashamed as to who you are. Stay true to yourself. Be you. Don't let anyone throw you down. You're not alone in this world. Just keep your head up.
You're never alone
You will be ok
It gets better
I promise.

#7 What is up with Uganda?

Ugandan anti-gay activist Pastor Martin Ssempa (R) leads anti-gay supporters as they celebrate after Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni signed a law imposing harsh penalties for homosexuality in Kampala February 24, 2014. REUTERS/Edward Echwalu

As many people heard Uganda has recently signed a new bill.

It pretty much says that you cannot be gay, and if you are you will be punished. Also, if you pity or speak up for someone who is gay, you will be punished.

Here is what I do not understand...it is 2014...when can everyone realize that sexuality, race, religion, education, etc. do not make someone any different from the rest of us?

We are all human.
But I guess Uganda refuses to take a notice in that. People are being beaten, killed, and jailed for being gay or even speaking to a gay person. Ugandans are committing suicide
I just do not understand why this has to keep happening.

#6 Disney Ends Funding to Boy Scouts Over Gay Policy

Disney will be ending the funding they give due to a policy that bans gay adult leaders in the organization. Although some people agree to this policy because they are afraid their son will be harmed by a gay leader. There was even a ban on having any gay members in the boy scouts. Even just as just a child. The restriction on minors was lifted effective Jan. 1, but the group kept the restriction against adult Scout leaders.

I'm personally glad that the funding will end because of this horrible policy. No one should be denied to lead a group/be part of one because of their sexual orientation. However, the ban should be lifted soon.

# 5 Death Treats To Child Star

Mia Talerico
My last post shows the Disney show "Good Luck Charlie" and they introduced the first gay couple on Disney.
There have been death treats towards Mia Talerico, the five-year-old actress who plays Charlie. There were death treats commented onto her Instagram.

One suspect sent photos of the girls head with a bloody fist on it saying, "Yes, kill you stupid b**ch"
However, The LAPD’s Threat Management Unit became involved to track down these treats and to protect the little girl.

The thing that truly blows my mind is that death treats... are sent to a five-year-old...seriously?! What kind of human being  would send death treats to a little girl, let alone anyone? I am personally disgusted by this. I just can't wrap this around my head that people are actually doing this to a child. No one deserves that. But this little girl is taking these threats because of one episode showing a lesbian couple.

#4 Disney Introduces First Gay Couple

On the Disney should, Good Luck Charlie, the FIRST gay couple is introduced. The little girl Charlie has a friend coming over, and once her friend shows up, two women come up to the door and introduce themselves as the little girls mothers.

The reaction of the actors in the show had no real care about the homosexual couple. The little girl Charlie just wanted to play with this other girl. Charlie did not even realize that the girl has two moms. It doesn't matter.
I believe that because of this episode, more shows on t.v. will show more homosexuals and their spouse.
Maybe soon there will be a gay princess.

#3 Love Is Love

In this talk by Andrew Solomons, he talks about how homosexuality is not a mental health problem. The person did not choose to be a homosexual just like the people who are deaf, blind, have autism, etc. No one chose to have that life. To be different than the rest of society. He even says that a blind child can be born by both parents who can see. A deaf child being born by parents who can hear. Just how a gay child can be born by parents who are both straight.
He talks about how each new president coming into office becomes a closer supporter of gay marriage. Which is causing riots and violence.  No one can control who they fall in love with.
Homosexuals are just like any other human being, who deserves the same rights as any straight human.
That people who are homosexual cannot control loving the same sex. This is not something that any human can control. Just like how we cannot control the color of our skin. We are born the way we are, and every human should have the same equal rights that anyone else has. It does not matter who you love, what color you are, religion, mental or physical state, education level, earnings, ANYTHING. Because we all share this plant together. We are in control. We only  have each other.

Love is love.
We are born the way we are
There is nothing we can do about it.

#2 Westboro Baptist Church Protesting School For A PLay

Many people know of the Westboro Baptitist Church because of the picketing they held outside a soldiers funeral who was gay. They are mostly know for their anti- gay remarks, signs, and protests.
However, they will be taking this anti-gay hate to Granite Bay High School because of their production of "The Laramie Project". Many people are unaware of what this play is truly about. It is about a boy named Matthew Shepard. He was beaten to death and targeted just for being gay.
This play will also be showing scenes representing the Westboro Baptitist Church during the 1988 hate-crime of Matthew Shepard.
They will be protesting in Northern California this week.

Main Idea

The main idea of this blog is to express how society all over the world views homosexuality. I will also express my own opinion of the topic through out my future posts. Many parts of the world ban homosexuality. There are riots, people being beaten by government authority, etc. However, there are some places that are coming around to accepting of those who are homosexual. Some also support gay marriage.
To wrap this all up, I will keep almost an update regularly on what is going on in the world involving homosexuality.
